If the measured capacitance makes the swing of the meter needle close to the normal capacitance (which can be compared and measured), and the leakage resistance is large, it indicates that the capacitance is good, otherwise it is abnormal.

For electrolytic capacitors, this can also distinguish the positive and negative electrodes: the black pen connected to the positive electrode of the capacitor and the red pen connected to the negative electrode in the two measurements where the meter needle indicated a large leakage resistance. It should be noted that some electrolytic capacitors have small reverse leakage resistance, often ranging from tens to several k Ω, but their forward leakage resistance is basically normal. Most of these capacitors are of poor quality or stored for too long, and should not be used.
